With his father as a guiding example of a man with faith, integrity and a strong work ethic, Ted knew he wanted to go into a challenging but rewarded career. In 2009 he began serving his apprenticeship at the family owned Schmidt & Bartelt funeral home. In 2010 he earned his associate’s degree in Funeral Science from Milwaukee Area Technical College.

In 2011, Ted took the position of Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer in Stevens Point for the family owned Shuda Funeral Service for over five years. In 2015, he received his certification as a Licensed Crematory Operator from the National Funeral Director’s Association.

Thirteen years after leaving, Ted felt thrilled to return home and accept a position with Rembs Funeral home in 2016. With him he brought his awesome wife Andrea and their two daughters, Isabelle and Mackenzie, and little Judy joined the family in 2018. Ted and Andrea attend First Presbyterian Church and are both members of the Sunrise Rotary Club.

In the summers he bikes everyday to work and bikes hours around town after, usually with baby Judy behind him for one of those hours. On the off nights, Ted and Andrea enjoy taking their old reliable aluminum canoe around different bodies of water in the area. When they aren't on a lake they are attempting to fix up their nationally historic home. Competing in 5K's and acting in community plays with his father has been an unexpected joy of returning home. When he isn’t spending time with his daughters or two cats, you can usually find him in his office enjoying a nice Xbox game with a friend and a mug of earl gray tea.
