Wynn Etta (nee Sawle) Heid, 76, of Marshfield peacefully passed on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at her home

Per her wishes there will be no public service. Interment will take place at Arena Cemetery in Arena, Wisconsin.

Wynn was born September 7, 1947 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI to Frank H. and Daisy Mae (Bardsley) Sawle. The youngest of five children, she grew up in Middleton. She was a 1965 graduate of Middleton High School.

On October 8, 1988 Wynn married the late author Roger Heid and together they shared their love for 34 years. Their many interests included belonging to several gun clubs where they were competitive shooters in rifle and hand held guns. Both Wynn and Roger were photographers and won many prizes. Wynn knew how to crochet and had created many afghans. She was also a member of the Eagles Club. Last, but not least, they loved cats.

Wynn is survived by her children: Jennifer (Joseph) Harrison of California, Ben (Vinton Balagot) Fillion of North Carolina, Carmen (Patrick BaDour) Everson of Kimberly, WI, Michael (Elvira) Van Geertruy of Arkansas, and Timothy Akey of Madison, WI; sisters Dorothy Halvorson of Madison, WI, and Beatrice Pennington of DeForest, WI. Wynn is further survived by many grandchildren, nieces, & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roger in 2022, her sister Susan Gillies in 2008, and her brother Herbert in 1963.

Wynn was adored by her family and friends and will be sorely missed.
