Obituary

Willis F. Leffel, 93, Marshfield, died with family by his side on Thursday. April 9, 2015 at Golden Living Center, Three Oaks, in Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, April 13, 2015 at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. Burial will take place at St. Michael's Cemetery in Hewitt. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home and on Monday from 9:30 am until service time at St. John's Catholic Church. Willis was born on June 12, 1921 in Unity to Ernest and Anna (Gruber) Leffel. He attended St. John's Parochial School in Marshfield and then Athens High School. He married Albertina "Tina" Pankratz on October 13, 1949 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hewitt and they were married for 65 years. Willis was employed at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory in Marshfield for 23 years and then at Marshfield Junior High School as a janitor for 22 years until his retirement. Willy was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, The Holy Name Society, the Senior Citizens Bowling League, and the Senior Citizens Club at Associated Bank. The Leffel's enjoyed spending time at their cottage on Musser Flowage in Phillips for 52 years. He enjoyed muskie fishing, bowling, golfing, woodworking, dancing, playing accordion, and puzzles. He also enjoyed spending time with family, especially his great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Tina, a daughter, Sharon (Gordon) Lesmeister of Arpin, a son, Brian Leffel of Marshfield, a granddaughter, Tracy (Duane) Martin and 3 great grandchildren, Hunter, Kaitlyn and Samantha Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Anna Leffel, a daughter, Patricia at birth, 2 sisters, Jenny Perko and Irene Etringer and a brother, Myron Leffel. The family will designate a memorial at a later date. Gone yet not forgotten, although we are apart, your spirit lives within me, forever in my heart.
