William "Bill" Vernon Edwards, 68, died unexpectedly of a sudden heart attack while vacationing in Kansas City, MO, on Sunday, May 15, 2022.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, WI. Visitation will be held at 11:00 am until the start of the service. A private burial service will be held at a later time.
Bill was born on January 12, 1954, in Kenosha, WI to Vernon and Dorothy (Bush) Edwards. He graduated from Bradford High School in 1972 where he was active in basketball and baseball. He was united in marriage to Susan Black in 1977 and later divorced. They had three daughters, Cheryl, Julie, and Holly. He married Mary (Lloyd) Bohman in 1996 and they enjoyed over 25 years together until his passing.
Bill worked for Super 29 Shell as Store Manager for 20 years, retiring in 2017. Being a stock car racer in his younger years, he was a big fan of NASCAR. He was also a loyal fan of the Packers, Badgers, and Bucks. He really enjoyed supporting his grandchildren in their various activities. One of Bill's favorite pastimes was traveling with Mary and checking out casinos along the way. He is fondly remembered for his sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh. He always had a smile on his face.
Bill is survived by his wife Mary, children Cheryl (Ted) Johnson, Julie (Chris) Thiex, Holly (Travis) Przybylski, Mandy (Dave) Alcott, and Ben (Heather) Bohman and grandchildren Natalie and Adam Johnson; Maya, Selina, and Will Thiex; Hunter, Leah, Tayler, Miley, and Kori Przybylski; Emma, Elliott, Norah, Felicity, Daphne, and Violet Alcott; and Matthew, Evan, and Jacob Bohman. He is further survived by his siblings Judie (Dick) Holm, Sherry (Statema) Bauer, and Ron Statema and nephews and nieces Darin Holm, Chelsea Bauer-Compton, and Brett and Kristy Statema. He was predeceased by his parents Vernon Edwards and Dorothy and Andrew Statema, brother Robert Edwards, and nephew Ryan Statema.
