Wesley A. Schar, 93, Marshfield, died on Monday, July 24, 2017 at House of the Dove, Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, July 27th at St. John's Catholic Church, with Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery. The visitation will be held from 4 to 8pm on Wednesday at Rembs Funeral Home and from 9:30 am on Thursday until service time at St. John's Catholic Church. Wesley was born on September 29, 1923 in Stratford, Wisconsin to Harry and Alice (Nehring) Schar. He married Lorraine Eckes on September 18, 1943 at St. John's Catholic Church in Marshfield. After their marriage Wesley served with the US Army in India. After his military service, Wesley worked as a Welder at Felker Brothers for 30 years until his retirement. Wesley enjoyed hunting and fishing, boxing as a young man, and he held memberships with the Central Wisconsin Sportsman's Club and the Marshfield Horseshoe League. Wesley is survived by his Wife Lorraine; his children: Arthur (Sharon) Schar of Marshfield, Shirley (Mike) Dupee of Arpin, Thomas (Sue) Schar of Marshfield, Cheryl Ann (Tom) Casper of Wisconsin Rapids, Terry (Sally) Schar of Lakeville, MN, Michael (Peggy) Schar of Wisconsin Rapids, Wayne (Debbie) Schar of Marshfield, Cynthia (Rick) Rennhack of Marshfield, and a daughter-in-law Deb Berg. He is further survived by his sister Ellen Janusz, 22 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Wesley was predeceased by his parents, his son Patrick Schar, a grandson Benjamin Schar, and siblings Milton, Delores Mitchell, and Harvey.
