Wayne R. Tollefson, 85, Marshfield, died on Wednesday morning, May 9, 2012 at House of the Dove Hospice Home, Marshfield. The family will receive relatives and friends at Rembs Funeral Home on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm when military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 54 of Marshfield. Wayne was born on October 14, 1926 in Marshfield, the son of Bernard and Alma (Scheibe) Tollefson. He attended Marshfield Senior High School and after his education he enlisted in the United States Navy serving for 3 1/2 years. He married Barbara M. Meinhardt on July 6, 1949 in Waukegan, Illinois. He had been employed for the United States Postal Service in Marshfield for thirty years until his retirement. After his retirement he worked as an outreach driver for the Marshfield Clinic for ten years. He is survived by his wife Barbara and their children, Debbie (David) Larson of Tempe, AZ, Michael (Mary) Tollefson, Susan (Fred) Trudeau, Lori (Bill) Schmitt, all of Marshfield, and Lisa (Pat) Connaughty of Sheboygan. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Wayne was blessed with a large and loving family, whom he enjoyed. He especially loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing and being up north. He also loved watching sports with his wife and seeing his friends at "The Patio Restaurant". He will be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Warren and a daughter in infancy.
