IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wanda M.
Venzke
October 4, 1944 – April 3, 2024
Wanda M. Venzke, age 79, Marshfield, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Colonial Health and Rehabilitation of Colby.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 13, 2023, at Grace Lutheran Church, Nasonville, where a gathering for family and friends will be from 9:00 am until service time. Rev. Tim Hinrichs will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Wanda was born on October 4, 1944, in Bay City, MI, to William and Erna (Becker) Woltmann. She was a 1962 graduate of Michigan Lutheran Seminary High School in Saginaw, MI and a 1966 graduate of Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN, where she sang with the traveling choir. She was united in marriage to David H. Venzke on January 21, 1967, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Marshfield.
Together Wanda and Dave owned and operated a small dairy farm which was in the family for 100 years. She loved the farm and changed from a city girl to a farm wife. She learned to drive various machines along with handling the chores in emergencies by herself. After missing the cows Wanda started a cow ice cream truck business "Wanda's Whistle Wetters" - making many memories for children and adults. She helped establish the Town of Rock volunteer Fire Department and later became a first responder.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, David, Sr., their three children and eight grandchildren, David (Mary) Venzke of Appleton, and their children, Jackson, Nicholas and Bailey; Bill (Angie) Venzke of Stillwater, MN, and their children, Amelia, Ella and Melanie; and Krista (Dustin) Henderson of Marshfield, and their children, Riley and Annabelle. She is also survived by a sister Wilma (Cecil) Maus of Radcliff, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Carl in infancy.
