Walter R. Theisen, 88, Stratford, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Stoney River Assisted Living, Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, December 7, 2015 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Rozellville with Rev. Sengole Vethamanickam officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery and grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday at Sauter / Rembs Funeral Home, Stratford and on Monday from 9:30 am until service time at St. Andrew's Catholic Church.
Walter was born on September 21, 1927 in Fond du Lac to George and Anna (Bonnlender) Theisen. He attended St. Andrew's Parochial School in Rozellville. He married Ila L. Wolff on September 26, 1956 at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield. She died on January 30, 2012.
Walter farmed in the Town of Day his entire life and also worked at Clover Hill Dairy. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and bowling. He loved playing cards, especially sheepshead.
He is survived by 8 children, David (Joleen) Theisen of Stratford, Sharon (Kim) Beisner of Dorchester, Roger (Kris) Theisen of Marshfield, Carol (Greg) Weber of Stratford, Duane (Bev) Theisen of Spencer, Donald Theisen of Stratford, Russell (Wendy) Theisen of Marshfield and Susan (Steve) Breseman of Marshfield. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Kevin Beisner, Brittany (Brian) Drexler, Benjamin Theisen, Matthew Theisen, Jon Kalsow, Casey Beisner, Michelle (Nick) Burington, Zachary Theisen, and Skyler Theisen and 3 great grandchildren, Alyssa, Andrew and Ethan Drexler.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife and 2 sisters, Lucille Mannigel and Agnes Kloehn.
