Walter E. Mundt, 92, Mosinee, died on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Aspirus Hospital, Wausau.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church, Town of Green Valley, Marathon County, with Rev. Darryl Kenagy officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Military rites will be conducted at the church by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 6352 of Stratford. The visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home and on Saturday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Grace Lutheran Church.
Walter was born on September 26, 1923 in the Town of Green Valley, Marathon County, to Albert and Wilhelmina (Pfeifer) Mundt. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. He married Delores M. Heisler on June 4, 1955 at Christ Lutheran Church in Chili.
Wally farmed his entire life on the family home farm where he was born. While farming he also worked in construction for a time. He enjoyed his family and especially his grandson.
He is survived by his wife, Delores and their children, Paul (Stephanie) Mundt of Mosinee and Mary (Scott) Markham of Wausau and a grandson, Noah Mundt. He is further survived by a sister, Caroline Jones of Marshfield.
He was predeceased by his parents, 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Ministry St. Clare's Hospital, Benedictine Health Care Center and Aspirus Wausau Hospital for the care that was given to Walter.
