Virginia G. Scherr, age 82 of Marshfield, WI passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at the Marshfield Medical Center.

Per her wishes there will be no formal services. She will be interred next to her husband in Brooklawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Virginia was born May 26, 1943 in Marshfield to the late Robert and Nona (Dankemyer) Howard. She attended schools in Marshfield, graduating in 1961 from the Public High School. She was united in marriage to Francis Scherr on October 20, 1962 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield. They were married 55 years before he sadly passed in 2017.

A truly lovable woman, Virginia had a memorable smile and was always looking forward to time with her family and friends. Following retirement she enjoyed traveling, notably to Branson, MO on several occasions, and her meals with friends wile “club hopping”, they would end up at the Pinewood Supper Club most often. Virginia liked to keep her hands busy in the garden or with a crochet hook… and she always had to be home in time for her soap operas.

Virginia is survived by her daughter; Marcy (Jim) Kane of Pittsville, WI, son; George (Rae Ann) Scherr of Milwaukee, WI, grandchildren; Ashley (Dane) Kozicki, Kayla (Terry) Timmons, Zachery (Brianna) Schuld, Stephanie (Tom) Sowle; great-grandchildren; Kiley Kozicki, Hailey Kozicki, Isabelle, Natalie, and Olivia Timmons, Kaiden, Jayden, and Karsten Schuld, and Kayla, Evelyn, and Emerson Sowle. She is further survived by her brother Jerold (Bonnie) Howard and her dear friend Ruthie.

She was predeceased by her parents and husband Francis.
