Obituary

Violet B. Wright, 85 of Marshfield died on Saturday morning, December 10, 2011 at Golden Living Center Three Oaks in Marshfield. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 am Thursday, December 15, 2011 at St. Johns Catholic Church with Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. St. Johns Funeral Choir will provide the music for the services. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery with Caleb Connor, Zac, Jason, Jacob, Benjamin and Joshua Wright serving as pallbearers and Nick and Nathan Wright as honorary. Visitations will be from 4-7pm Wednesday, December 14th at the Rembs Funeral Home and again on Thursday at the church from 9:30am until time of the service. There will be a combined Parish and Parish Council of Catholic Women rosary service at 4pm Wednesday at Rembs Funeral Home. Violet was born on July 31, 1926 in Pebbles, WI to Edward and Adeline (Dupee) Schumacher. Violet was a very caring person and exceptionally supportive for her husband Floyd, family and friends. She was a homemaker and teacher to her children throughout their school years. She opened her heart to many people. Her children could go to her regardless what the issue may have been. She would listen and talk with words of encouragement. A devoted person in her Catholic faith, never missing Sunday Mass or Holy Days of obligation. She also enjoyed telling stories of growing up on the farms in several different areas of the state. She received her education in small countryside schools in the Fond du Lac area. They had a cat named 'Tinker' which gave them many years of companionship. Violet and Shorty loved to travel and saw different county sides in numerous states. Her hobbies were crocheting many dollies of different designs with seasonal colors, knitting afghans of beauty for all of her family, grandchildren and friends. Mother enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. After their children moved on from their home, she went to work at Ben Franklin store in downtown Marshfield and enjoyed her job very much, shared friendship of her coworkers, management and customers. She was united in marriage to Floyd K. 'Shorty' Wright on February 7, 1948 in Port Townsend, WA. Floyd died on January 10, 2004. Surviving are her children, Neil (Mary) Wright, Marge (Dick) Hebert and Keith (Chellen) Wright all of Marshfield, Daniel (Jan) Wright of Pittsville and LuAnn (Lance) Connor of Spencer; 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is further survived by two brothers Dean (Ngaio ) Schumacher of Wisconsin Rapids and Dale (Marilyn) Schumacher of Marshfield; three sisters Erma (LaVern) Reigel of Woodruff, Beverly (Herb) Schneider of Marshfield and Sally Follen of Wisconsin Rapids; two sisters-in-law Pat Schumacher of Fond du Lac and Ruth Schumacher of Spencer; one brother-in-law Harvey (Joyce) Wright of Sun Prairie. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son David on Aug. 7, 1967, two brothers, Virgil and Robert Schumacher and one sister Bonnie Wittman.
