Violet M. Hansen, 86, Marshfield, died on Monday, July 23, 2012 in the emergency room of Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 pm on Friday, July 27, 2012 at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield. Rev. Samuel Martin will officiate and music will be provided by St. John's Church Funeral Choir. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield, and serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Josh, Jacob and Jeff Hansen and nephews, Rick and John Braem and Shane Hansen. The visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home and on Friday from 11:30 am until service time at St. John's Catholic Church. St. John's Parish Council of Catholic Women rosary service will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Violet was born on September 26, 1925 in Marshfield, the daughter of Fred and Grace (Truhlar) Braem and was a graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. She was united in marriage to James D. Hansen on August 14, 1944 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marshfield. He died on January 15, 2008. Vi had been employed at Thomas Super Market and at the Wood County Clerk's Office, both in Marshfield. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and her dog, Sassy. She is survived by two sons, Richard (Janice) Hansen and Donald (Kathleen) Hansen, all of Marshfield. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jessica), Kim, Josh, Jacob, Sarah (fiancé – Ryan Sarazin), and Kristina Hansen, two step grandchildren, Brenda Korth and Robert Nelles, Jr. and three great grandchildren, Sydney, Connor and Koffee Hansen. She is further survived by a brother, Richard (Bonnie) Braem of Marshfield. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband and a granddaughter, Rachel.
