Viola M. Ley, 79 died on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Kathy's Hospice in West Bend, WI.
Funeral services will be 11am Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Rembs Funeral Home with Fr. Eric Berns officiating. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield.
Visitations will be from 9am Tuesday at the funeral home until time of services.
Viola was born on February 13, 1935 in Augusta, WI to Herman and Mildred (Jaenke) Frueh. Viola graduated from Augusta High School in 1952. She moved to Marshfield after graduation and worked at Adler Bakery.
She was united in marriage to Gerald W. Ley on September 21, 1957 in Marshfield. He sadly passed away on July 19, 2009.
They made their home in Milwaukee from 1958 until 1990 where Gerald was on the Fire Department for 32 years. In 1990, they moved from Milwaukee to Soo Lake in Phillips until the death of her husband. She moved to Germantown to be near her family.
Viola and Jerry traveled throughout the United States, enjoyed their card club, going to the casinos and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, James (Donna) Ley of Milwaukee, Sharon (Ronald) Frakes of Menomonee Falls, Janet (Jeffrey) Wells of Jackson and William (Anne-Hunter) Ley of Louisville, KY; six grandchildren, Dana and Katie Ley, Matthew and Rachel Wells and Larah-Kate and Griffen Ley. She is further survived by a sister Marian Lenz of Marshfield and a sister-in-law Sharon Frueh of Marshfield.
Besides her parents and husband, Gerald, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter Amanda Frakes, sister Elizabeth Kaas, brother Thomas Frueh and two brothers-in-law Richard Lenz, and Clarence Kaas.
