Viola C. Hagen, 93, Marshfield, died on Monday evening, November 14, 2011 at Golden Living Center, Three Oaks, Marshfield. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, with Rev. James Logan officiating. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield. The visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 am until service time at Rembs Funeral Home. Viola was born on July 12, 1918 in the Town of Auburndale, Wood County, to Joseph and Josephine (Bruckert) Breu. As a young lady she attended cosmetology school in Milwaukee. She married Elmer "Al" R. Hagen on January 12, 1950 in Milwaukee. He died on February 14, 1958. Viola lived in Pewaukee for many years and returned to Marshfield in 1975 to be closer to her siblings. She also returned to school and received her General Education Degree in 1975. Viola loved to read, often reading four or five books a week. She was also a superb cook. She is survived by her children, Patricia (Jon) Brown of South Carolina, Beverly of California, Robert (Teri) Hagen of Oconomowoc, Gail (Allan) Mikula of Marshfield, and Scott Hagen of Marshfield. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother William Breu of Marshfield and by a sister, Ann Tauschek of Marshfield. She was predeceased by her parents, a brother, Frank Breu and a sister, Thresilla "Toots" Kupfer. The family will direct memorials to Alzheimers research.
