Victoria "Vicky" A. Helwig, 88, Marshfield, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Stoney River Memory Care in Marshfield where she had been a resident for four years.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11am on Monday, January 6th, 2025 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Reverend Douglas Robertson officiating. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. The family will welcome friends and relatives at the church from 10am until service time on Monday. Interment will occur in the spring at St. Mary's Parish Cemetery in Neillsville, WI next to her parents.

Vicky was born on July 3, 1936 in Grenville, South Dakota to Frank and Annie (Snaza) Helwig. She was the third of ten children and grew up in that community. Following her education she moved to the Minneapolis area where she taught English at a community college for 35 years. Her love of traveling brought her to Frankfort, Germany where she taught English for a little while more before retiring to Wisconsin.

She is survived by four brothers: Adrian of Boulder, CO, Harry (Linda) of Rhinelander, WI, Andy (Linda) of Broomfield CO, Frank (Betty) of Fort Worth TX and two sisters: Anne (Dan) Hogan, and Emery Sue Helwig of Marshfield, WI

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers: Larry, Daniel, and Fr. Aquinas Helwig; a sister Agnes in infancy; and her dear friend Barbara Matczynski.
