Obituary

Victor J. Reigel, age 99, of Marshfield and formerly of Milladore, died on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Golden Living Center – Three Oaks, Marshfield, with family by his side. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at St. Kilian's Catholic Church, Blenker. Rev. Jesse Burish will officiate and music will be provided by St. Kilian's Folk Choir. Committal services and burial will follow the service in the parish cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 468 of Milladore. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday at Rembs Funeral Home and from 9:30 am on Thursday until service time at St. Kilian's Catholic Church. A Knights of Columbus rosary service will be held at 6:30 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Victor was born on February 26, 1917 in the Town of Lincoln, Wood County, to Joseph A. and Mary (Youngwirth) Reigel. After attending area schools, Victor served in the South Pacific with Company C, 128th Infantry, 32nd Red Arrow Division. Victor received an honorable discharge on October 12, 1944. Victor Married LaVona S. (Nosbisch) on April 19, 1945 at St. John's Catholic Church in Marshfield. Victor and LaVona raised their family and farmed in the Town of Milladore until their retirement when they moved to Marshfield. Victor was a member of St. Kilian's Catholic Church, Blenker, The Knights of Columbus Christ the King Council 4646 of Junction City, a life time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion Post. Victor is survived by his children, Marlene (Wayne) Holly, Mary (Ward) Bonaci, Michael (Bonnie) Reigel, Mardel "Marti" Reigel, Mark (friend Dawn) Reigel and Merlyn (Rhonda) Reigel. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jeff (Jodi) Murphy, Jason Murphy (fiancé Kristie), Brad Holly, Steve Bonaci, Andy (Robin) Reigel, Brian (Alice) Reigel, Brenda (Shaun) Elsing, Jeremy Reigel, Joshua Reigel (Shelly) Jared Reigel (friend Jessa) and Rachel (Justin) Wilke and great grandchildren, Samantha M, Logan, Emmerson, Kinnley, Samantha R., Scott, Cody, Taylor, Brayden, Byron, Max, Savannah, Brooklyn, and Charlotte. He is further survived by a sister, Adelia Beckman, brothers, Arthur and Joseph Reigel, sisters-in-law, Silvia Reigel and Alvera Gottschalk and a brother-in-law, LaVern Nosbisch. Victor was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, LaVona, his parents, stepmother Beryl (Godard), his in-laws, granddaughters, Renee Murphy and Amanda Reigel, 2 sisters, 3 brothers, 6 brothers-in-law, 6 sisters-in-law and a friend Ed Freund. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established by the family at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield Clinic and Golden Living Center - Three Oaks, for the care given to Victor.
