Obituary

Verlyn A. Schnabel, 92 of Marshfield died on Wednesday, January 04, 2012 at the Golden Living Center Three Oaks in Marshfield. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Chris Schwanz officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Marshfield. Visitations will be from 5-8pm Friday at Rembs Funeral Home and again on Saturday from 9:30 am until time of service at the church. Verlyn was born on November 16, 1919 in Neillsville to Alfred and Lena (Lipkie) Schnabel where he attended Reed School. He was united in marriage to Anna M. Ploog on December 14, 1941 in Winona, MN. After his education, he worked on the home farm in Neillsville until moving to Marshfield in 1956. He then began employment at Roddis Plywood, now Weyerhaeuser Company until his retirement in 1983. He enjoyed going fishing with his friends. Surviving are his wife Anna, daughter Patricia (William) Myrant-Wangall of Madison, two grandsons, Kevin (Lolly) Myrant of Madison and Keith Myrant of Semi Valley,CA. and four great grandchildren. He is further survived by a brother Leon (June) Schnabel of Neillsville. Verlyn was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.
