Vance Verlin Voight, 49, Pittsville, Wisconsin, passed away at home on Friday, September 23, 2016 after a courageous eleven year fight against cancer. He was surrounded by his loving wife, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at10:00 am on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Wisconsin Rapids Moravian Church, with his brother, Virgil Voight officiating. Burial will take place in Arpin Cemetery following a luncheon at the church. The visitation will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Buchanan / Rembs Funeral Home, Pittsville and from 9:00am on Saturday until service time at Wisconsin Rapids Moravian Church.
Vance was born on September 17, 1967 in Wisconsin Rapids, to Roy and Lorrayne (Christiansen) Voight. He was a 1985 graduate of Auburndale High School. He also attended Mid State Technical College in Wisconsin Rapids where he received a degree in diesel and auto mechanics. Vance was employed at Nekoosa Papers, Port Edwards Division until the plant closed. He was last employed at Gardener Trucking and Cold Storage.
Vance was united in marriage to the love of his life, Shelly L. Breezee on January 1, 2016 in Marshfield. Vance and Shelly had a special kind of love and made many beautiful memories in the time they had together.
Vance enjoyed racing cars at Golden Sands Speedway in Wisconsin Rapids and Marshfield Motor Speedway. He also enjoyed snowmobiling and was a member of the Yellow River Riders Snowmobile Club. He had a love for riding his Harley, cross country skiing, working in his shop, hunting, riding bike with his wife Shelly and taking long walks with his dog, Maddie. He especially enjoyed playing basketball with his son, Chase, and watching him play high school sports.
He is survived by his wife, Shelly and his son, Chase and step children, Taylor (Ted), Dillon and Autumn. He is also survived by his mother, Lorrayne Voight of Arpin, his brothers, Vince (Peggy) Voight of Auburndale, Victor (Tammy) Voight of Mosinee and Virgil (Elaine) Voight of Pittsville, his sister, Brenda (Rick) Bell of Hustler and a brother-in-law, Mark McGuire of Rio. He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved very much.
He was predeceased by his father, Roy and two sisters, Susan Voight and Barb McGuire.
