Obituary

Tony Walter Jaromin, 95 of City Point, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Stoney River Memory Care in Marshfield. He was born on June 2, 1920 in City Point to the late Frank and Mary Jaromin. At the age of 16 he joined the CCC Camps (Civil Conservation Corp) and at the age of 18 joined the United States Army serving during World War II. He was stationed in England and served as a medical technician, always putting his fellow soldiers first. Decorations he received were Victory Medal European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with 1 Silver Battle Star; 3 Bronze Battle Stars; 6 Overseas Service Bars; 1 Service Stripe; Good Conduct Medal and a Distinguished Unit Badge. While stationed in England, he met his future wife, who was serving in the English Army, Joyce Barker. He returned to the states to become a self-employed business man. He owned and operated several sphagnum moss marshes which he sold to companies in Florida, Texas and to the country of Japan. Tony also completed his lifelong dream and developed his own cranberry marsh. Tony enjoyed hunting with a bow and gun. He enjoyed the wild turkeys and cranes that came back each year. Tony was committed to his family and friends, which was evident in his overwhelming generosity. He was always there for someone in need. He was a member and supporter of Martyrs Chapel in City Point. He is survived by his wife Joyce, daughters Jackie (Ron) Messner of Plymouth, WI, Joan (Gary) Stickney of Kohler, Judy Tjenos of Sheboygan Falls and Patti (Steve) Meis of Marshfield. Grandchildren, Jason (Kristin) Dobrzynski of Chicago, Rachel (Jim) Anderson of Stillwater, MN, Bill Wermuth of Sheboygan, Madeline and Audrey Meis of Marshfield. He is further survived by a family member and special friend Darryl Reshel of City Point. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by and welcoming him into heaven are his siblings Anne Jaromin, Edward, Hank, Alex and George Jaromin along with many of his friends. Tony would rather give than receive, so to honor him, please donate to our veterans or to any needy children's charity. From the dust of stars, you are made, you are loved by God. Just close your eyes and you will see all the memories that you have of me. Just sit and relax and you will find I'm really still there inside your mind. Don't cry for me now, I'm gone, for I am in the land of song. There is no pain, there is no fear. So dry away that silent tear. Don't think of me in the dark and cold, for here I am, no longer old. I'm in that place that's filled with love. Known to all as "Up Above" by Gaynor Llewellyn. Let's not our hearts be troubled, believe in God. Believe that one beautiful day, we as family will all be together and at peace. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Stoney River Memory Care and their special home care aide Sherry. Private family memorial services will take place at a later date. Buchanan/Rembs Funeral Home in Pittsville is assisting the family with the arrangements.
