Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery and serving as honorary pallbearers will be Tommy's friends from the Drake House. Visitation will take place from 4:00 pm until 6:30 pm on Thursday, June 24 at Rembs Funeral Home and from 9:30 am until 10:30 am on Friday at church. Tommy was born on June 16, 1966 in Marshfield to Donald and Mary Lou (Wartner) Eilers. He worked at ODC in Marshfield. Tommy was born and raised in Marshfield. Tommy grew up on the family farm east of Hewitt and spent a lot of time playing with his sisters, brothers and his favorite dog, Bimbo. At the age of three, Tommy started school at the Little Red Schoolhouse. Many of Tommy's classmates became lifelong friends as Tommy continued his schooling with them until he finished high school. Some of those friends actually ended up becoming Tommy's roommates later in life. As a child, Tommy became involved with Special Olympics and Boy Scouts. Tommy competed in swimming, track, bowling and bocce ball through the years and amassed a collection of medals and ribbons that we would all envy. In 1986, Tommy moved into the Wisconsin Group Home on 13th Street. Tommy would continue to live at that home until October of 2020. Tommy and his roommates had busy schedules filled with work at ODC, chores around the house, Special Olympics, Boy Scouts, camping trips, fishing trips with Fishing has No Boundaries, trips with Progressive Travel, grocery shopping and the list goes on. When he wasn't out of the house, Tommy enjoyed playing his guitar and singing. Tommy loved Scooby Doo, Spider-Man and Disney movies and for many years spent his Friday nights watching Friday Night Smackdown with the guys. Anyone that knew Tommy knew he loved McDonalds (especially their cheeseburgers and soda), pizza parties, dances, pretty girls, the Green Bay Packers and of course….. Pepsi. Tommy's love of all things Pepsi spilled into a love of the colors red, white and blue and the American flag. Tommy's birthday, falling two days after Flag Day, resulted in a lot of red, white and blue ice cream cakes. As far as holidays go, Tommy loved them all but Halloween was his favorite. Through the years, Tommy touched many lives and will be missed by his many caregivers, friends and co-workers. Tommy's friendly greetings, his hugs and his infectious laugh brightened many days. He is lovingly survived by his mother, Mary Lou, sisters, Diane (Robert) Luciani of Carefree, Ariz., Sandra Eilers of Natick, Mass., Linda (Ron) Sorenson of Maui, Hawaii, and brothers, Ken (Jamie) Eilers of Hewitt and Al (Kerri) Eilers of Howards Grove, 10 nieces and nephews, and 8 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, and grandparents, Lawrence and Verna Wartner and Alois and Olive Eilers. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of Tommy's caregivers over the years. Memorials can be designated to ODC in Marshfield.
