Thomas W. Rucker, 69, Pittsville, died on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the United Church of Christ, Pittsville, with Rev. Wanda Veldman officiating. Military rites will be conducted at the church by the American Legion Post 153 of Pittsville following the service. The family will receive relatives and friends at the United Church of Christ from 11:00 am on Tuesday until service time. Buchanan / Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. Thomas William Rucker was born on February 12, 1947 in Pittsville, to Glen Curtis and Bernita Marie (Bottcher) Rucker and was a graduate of Pittsville High School. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1966 and served in Germany until 1968. After his honorable discharge he worked at the Port Edwards and later the Nekoosa Paper mill. After 45 years he retired in 2012. Tom was married to (Ann Hoffmann) Rucker from May 17, 1969 until June 28, 1991. Ann maintains the Rucker surname. Tom later married Mary Benzmiller on November 16, 1998. She survives along with his children, Brian (Jackie) Rucker, Scott (Stephanie) Rucker, twins Tonia (Chad) Hemmingson and Tina (Joseph) Winkelman and his stepchildren, Kim (Jeff) Sonnenberg, Steve (Wendy) Bauer and Lisa (Brian) MacRae. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters, Phyllis (Arnold) Premeau, Dennis (Kathy) Rucker, Ross (Gail) Rucker, Linda (Norm) Snortheim, Glen who is deceased and his wife Mary who remarried Tom Bauer and Glenda (Bob) Fellenz. Tom loved hunting, fishing, woodworking, sitting outside by the fire pit and spending time with Mary and their Corgi, Max. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
