Obituary

Theresa Mary LaMere, 86, died on Sunday, August 26, 2012 in her home. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00am Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Marshfield. The Rev. Peter Manickam and the Rev. Sebastian Venni will co-officiate. Music will be provided by Dorothy Gehrke as organist, Jane Fait as vocalist, and Michelle and Rachel Fernandez playing the violin and flute. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery following mass. Visitation will be from 5-7pm Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, and from 9:00am until service time on Wednesday at the church. The PCCW will say the rosary at 5pm Tuesday at church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. Theresa was born on December 26, 1925 in Hewitt, the daughter of Fred and Margaret (Wolf) Heintz. She was a graduate of Marshfield Senior High School, class of 1943. She married Vern LaMere on December 27, 1943 in Beloit, WI. They were blessed with four adopted children: Donn Frederic, Mary Therese, Anne Marie, and Vern Joseph. Theresa and Vern started LaMere Photographe studio in 1947 and remained in business until December 31, 2002, retiring after 55 years. Theresa was very active in the church and community. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish where she served on the parish council and the Perpetual Adoration Committee. She served on the board of Saint Vincent de Paul since its inception, also volunteering there as well as at the Christian Library. She is survived by son Donn LaMere, daughter Anne (John) Nikolai, and son Vern (Judy) LaMere. She is furthered survived by grandchildren Ryan LaMere, Cassandra Quick and daughter McKenna, Erin (Adam) Goins and son Jacob, Jayson Carrington, Mandy (Jody) Volkman and daughters Denali and Kenai, Ted (Jenny) Nikolai, Katelyn LaMere, and Jacob LaMere; and her sister Irene Frommell and brother-in-law Joseph Stauber. She was predeceased by her husband Vern, daughter Mary T. Carrington, sister Claire Stauber, and brother Norm Heintz. Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com
