Theodore C. "Ted" Trierweiler, 81, Marshfield, died on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Ministry St. Josephs Hospital Palliative Care with his family by his side. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Christ Lutheran Church, Marshfield. Rev. Mark Krueger and Pastor Daryn Bahn will officiate and music will be provided by Bruce Jensema as organist, Duane Helgerson as soloist and congregational singing. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield, where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 54, and serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Captain Aric Steinmann, Adam Steinmann, Joe Trierweiler, Brian Oppman, Matt Trierweiler and Jacob Trierweiler. The visitation will be held on Monday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home and on Tuesday from 10:00 am until service time at Christ Lutheran Church. An Elks lodge of Sorrow will be conducted at 6:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Trierweiler was born on August 9, 1930 in Marshfield, the son of William C. and Anna (Olstinski) Trierweiler and was a 1948 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. Ted began working for Trierweiler Construction in 1947 until 1951. He then worked for Swift Trucking from 1951 until 1958 when he began working again for Trierweiler Construction until retiring in January of this year. Ted entered the United States Army serving as a supply sergeant from January 15, 1952 until January 15, 1954. He was united in marriage to Maryls E. "Mert" Thuss on October 29, 1949 at Christ Lutheran Church. She died on February 24, 1991. He later married Bernice M. Schindhelm Merkel on March 7, 1992. He was a member of the American Legion Post 54 for over fifty years and served as the first Korean War Veteran commander of the post. He also was a member of the Elks Lodge #665, The Fraternal Order of Eagles Badger Aerie #624, served as past president of the Wisconsin Concrete Pavement Association, director of the Wisconsin Road Builders Association, the Wisconsin Concrete Redimix Association, was president of Trierweiler Construction and Supply Company, a member of Christ Lutheran Church, served on the church council and also served as an elder at the church. He enjoyed his dogs, and family, especially his grandchildren. His passion was Trierweiler Construction. The business was honored as "Firm of the Year" in 1992. He is lovingly survived and remembered by his wife, Bernice, and his children, Bonnie (Dennis) Steinmann of Green Bay, Steve (Nancy) Trierweiler, Sue (Allen) Oppman, Dave (Jacklyn) Trierweiler, and Daniel (Barbara) Trierweiler, all of Marshfield and by his stepchildren, Chuck (Barb) Schindhelm of Butternut, Beth Voelker of Burnsville, MN, Mitch (Michelle) Merkel of Iron Mountain, MI, Lori (Allen) Fellenz and Barbara (Daniel) Trierweiler, all of Marshfield. He is also survived by grandchildren, Sara (Dennis) Wasley, Captain Aric Steinmann, Stacy Steinmann, Adam Steinmann, Jill Trierweiler (Jeremy Iwanski), Joe (Tabitha) Trierweiler, Brian (Lindsey) Oppman, Amanda (fiancй Tyler Lucas) Oppman, Ashley Oppman, Brooke Trierweiler, Jacob Trierweiler, Matthew Trierweiler, and Katie Trierweiler, and by stepgrandchildren, Jason Schindhelm, Michael (Shannon) Schindhelm, Jenny (Aaron) Ridley, Kristen (Jon) Maguire, Rebecca Voelker, Tom Merkel, Patrick Merkel, Megan (Matt) Oley. He is further survived by twelve great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife, Marlys, a sister, Margaret Dorfschmidt, brothers, Robert, Edward and Harold Trierweiler and a stepson, David Schindhelm.
