Terry D. Cole, 72, Marshfield, died on Monday, July 15, 2013 at the House of the Dove, Marshfield. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 22, 2013 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, with Rev. Dr. Kevin Buchanan officiating. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at Rembs Funeral Home on Monday from 9:30 am until service time. Terry was born on February 20, 1941 in Marshfield, the first child of Mabel (Rayhorn) and Forrest Cole. During his childhood he had an exceptional interest in electrical equipment, especially radios and could repair almost anything electrical. He graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 1959. He worked in the family business, Cole's Music Store while in high school and then worked full time for his mother, Mabel, when his father died in 1963. The music store was then located at 554 South Central Avenue. In 1975 Terry bought the business from his mother and became sole proprietor. In 1980 the store moved 2 blocks north to 413 South Central Avenue. To make way for a theater complex it was moved again in 1996 to 148 South Central where it remained until closing in January 2013. As the music industry became more specialized, Terry became a guitar specialist, both electric and acoustic. He applied his interest in electronics to amplifiers, sound systems, repairing electronic organs and pipe organs and rebuilding neumatic systems for player pianos, tuning pianos and generally fixed anything that came into the store. In 2003 the Marshfield News Herald published an article "Mr. Fixit" in which Terry was featured. Terry was known for his generosity, donating his professional expertise to the First Presbyterian Church for many years in memory of his mother, piano tuning for the Palm Sunday Concerts in Marshfield for many years and other special events in the community. His love of the north found him on Lake Nokomis at the "Cole Bin", the family cottage almost every weekend from early spring to late fall. Terry is survived by a brother, Mark of Marshfield and a sister, Carla (Rowland) Stebbins of Stonington, CT. He was preceded in death by his parents, Memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church, 200 S.
