Obituary

Sylvester B. OShasky, 82 of Sherry died on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at his home. Visitations will be on Monday, November 28, 2011 from 6-9pm at the Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield. Sylvester was born on March 13, 1929 in Rudolph to John and Carrie (Konkol) OShasky. After his education, he worked for Frank Garber for several years. He was then employed for Consolidated Paper in Biron for 22 years. On October 14, 1950 he married the love of his life Jean M. Ebacher in Wisconsin Rapids. On October 14, 2011, they celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. From March 1951 until his honorable discharged in March 1953, he served in the United States Army in Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana. In 1971, Sal and his wife Jean purchased their farm in Sherry. His passion was farming and he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved his grandchildren and was the best father figure to his two grandchildren Gerry and Kris. You will be greatly missed! We love you Papa! Sylvester is survived by his wife Jean, daughter Debra Becker of Sherry; two grandchildren Gerald (Nichole) Becker of Milladore, Krissa (special friend Corey Palms) Horn of Arpin; seven great grandchildren, Lorelei, Cutter, Starr, Kacie, Sherri, Jessie and Taylor. He is further survived by two sisters, Laverne Blazel of Wisconsin Rapids and Alice (Marvin) Bushmaker of Rudolph. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son Gerald, one brother and one sister.
