Obituary

Susan E. Nordbeck, 68, Marshfield, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center, Owen.

A private memorial service will be held. Burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Susan was born on November 23, 1957 in Milwaukee to John “Ed” IV and Dorothy (Weinfurtner) Nordbeck. Susan attended schools in Marshfield, graduating in 1976 from Marshfield Senior High School.

Susan was employed for a time through ODC. Her favorite jobs included cleaning the tables for From the Ground Up coffee shop and readying the store for Christmas at Younker’s.

Susan enjoyed spending time with her family. Susan joined the family for holidays and special occasions. Picnics and camping were some of her favorite outings. She loved riding in Wynne’s convertible when given the chance. Sandra hosted Susan for many weekends of fun. They had a long history of attending the Central Wisconsin State Fair every year. When David Cassidy, Susan’s high school crush, played at the Oneida Casino in Green Bay, her siblings made sure she was in attendance. She loved being outdoors. She enjoyed the Milwaukee Brewers and many Packer games with her siblings. Loved time spent with her only brother John.

Susan was a lifetime lover of music. The Beatles were her all time favorite and she loved the Broadway production of Rain. She had a turntable growing up, transitioned to CD’s, and always had a radio nearby. Many visits were spent with Spotify playing her favorites in the background.

Susan adored being in the kitchen. She helped cook meals and especially loved to bake. The group home residents looked forward to her fresh baked goodies. When she was no longer able to bake, she requested homemade goodies from Linda and other treats brought by all of her siblings.

She is survived by her siblings, Linda (Ron) Hertel of Chili, Sandra Nordbeck of Marshfield, Wynne (Christopher) Persson of Hewitt, and John V Nordbeck of Hewitt; nieces and nephews Nikki (Nick) Anderson, Lindsay (Caleb) Young, Mitch and Nolan Hertel; Carly and Tristan Persson; Morgan and Jack Nordbeck; great nieces and nephews Cameron, Brayden and Evelyn Anderson; Grace Young and Cooper Nordbeck.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Special thanks to the staff of Clark County Rehab and Living Center. You treated her with dignity and kindness, and were also her family. For that we are forever grateful. A heartfelt thanks to St. Croix Hospice who ensured Susan’s comfort in her final days.
