Shirley A. Ertz, 85, Marshfield, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Marshfield Medical Center with family by her side.
Shirley was born on January 29, 1937 in Chippewa Falls to Howard and Blanche (Phaneuf) Bell. She attended school in Eau Claire. She married Robert Ertz on September 14, 1957 at Sacred Heart of Jesus in Eau Claire. He passed away on March 24, 1983.
Shirley raised a large family. She worked as a cook at Abby Café for many years. She loved reading, coloring, puzzle books, cooking, baking and watching old movies. She also loved when her grandchildren would come and visit. She was a good listener. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Ben (Ann) Ertz of Eau Claire, Joseph Ertz, Pat (Eva) Ertz of Milwaukee, Brian Ertz of Stoughton, Darrell (Bonita) Ertz of Marshfield, Kenny (Shannon) Ertz of Spencer, Theresa (James) Miller of Marshfield, and Lisa (Gary) Schubert of Spencer and daughters-in-law, Terri Ertz and Renee Ertz. She is also survived by grandchildren: Eric (Jennifer) Ertz, Misty Berg, Megan Johnson, Shannon Ertz, Samantha, Ryan Ertz, Darcie (Tyler) Lind, Adam Ertz, Alexander Ertz, Nick (Hannah) Ertz, Zoe Ertz, Vivian Ertz, Katharine Ertz, Cory (Chelsie) Ertz, Shannon (Ryan) Waterworth, Stephanie Ertz, Kyle Ertz, Mallory Olson, Caleb Olson, Lee (Alyssa) Friedl, Jessica Friedl, Jacqueline (Jacob) Vick, Daniel (Jessica) Schubert, and Dylan (Miranda) Schubert and great grandchildren: Carson, Jack, Deven, Jace, Nicholas, Lexi, Michael, Douglas, Lorris, Natasha, Riley, Nathaniel, Lilith, Alice, Lucas, Jack, Lylah, Leviathan, Jaxsen, Jade, Bryce, Zoey, Tibebu, Mason, Vincent, Nikalus, Owen, and Owenn. She is further survived by her sister, Betty Wolters of Marshfield, brother, Richard Bell of Eau Claire, and several step-grandchildren and step-greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, James and Paul Ertz, and siblings, James Bell, Margaret Bell, Gerald Bell, Lillian Stokes, William Bell, John Bell, Marshall Bell, Burton Bell, Thomas Bell, and Donna Kohnke.
