Obituary

Shirley A. Andres, 87 of Marshfield died peacefully on Friday morning, February 23, 2024, at her home with her family at her side.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Tuesday, March 5th, 2024, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Hewitt with Fr. Murali Anand Rayappan officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Auburndale. The family will receive friends & relatives from 9am until service time at the church.

Shirley was born August 21, 1936, in Marshfield, Wisconsin to Norman F. and Margaret E. (Vogel) Manlick. Although she spent some time as a girl in Chicago, the majority of her growing up years were in Auburndale. It was in this town where she married Edward R. Andres, Jr. June 29, 1954, at St. Mary's, he sadly passed in 2015. She was known as The receptionist at Figi's for almost her whole working life.

Following their retirement Shirley & Ed took a special trip to Arizona to celebrate along with Shirley's brother Jerry & Annette. For the most part after their retirement they stayed close to home to be near family. Shirley much enjoyed her flower gardens and the birds. She and Ed had fun going to casinos, auctions, and Shirley was extremely fond of shopping for just about anything. But above all she enjoyed being a grandma, and always made sure that the candy dish was kept full.

Shirley is survived by her children, Linda (Bruce) Teska of Auburndale, Jeff Andres of Marshfield, Julie Andres of Marshfield and Jason (Sarah) Andres of Marshfield, son-in-law Dennis VanDerLeest of Stratford; six grandchildren, Becky Kieffer, Ryan (Marie) Kieffer, Jordyn (Steve) Shanks, Cassidy Van DerLeest, Kati (Nelson) Spindler, and Ian Grimm; and two great-grandchildren: Wyatt & Watson Shanks. She is further survived by her brother Jerry (Annette) Manlick of Marshfield, sister Judy (Gene) Strigel of Arpin, brother-in-law Jerome "Sonny" (Helen) Andres of Rozellville, sister-in-law Jeanette Andres of Marshfield, and numerous nieces & nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edward and daughter Nancy VanDerLeest, both in 2015.
