Obituary

Sharon L. Wittman, 68, Marshfield, was received into heaven on Friday, January 20, 2012 at House of the Dove in Marshfield, Wisconsin. She passed quietly surrounded by her loving family. Sharon was born on February 8, 1943 in Marathon, to Joseph and Margaret (Bingen) Shidell. She married Norman Wittman on June 5, 1965 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Marathon, Wisconsin. She attended St. Marys Catholic Grade School in Marathon and then Marathon High School in Marathon, graduating in 1961. She went on to get her Licensed Practical Nursing degree from St. Marys School of Nursing in Wausau, Wisconsin. She worked at St. Josephs Hospital in Marshfield. Later she received her Registered Nursing degree from Northcentral Technical College in Wausau and continued to work at St. Josephs, finishing her career as a member of the Admissions Team. Sharon loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren whom she deeply treasured. She took great pride and pleasure in her childrens and grandchildrens achievements and was always supportive and encouraging, but most importantly loved them unconditionally and for just being themselves. She enjoyed a rich and wonderful life and loved getting together with family and friends. She loved water skiing with her siblings at the cabin and teaching her children to waterski, attending her childrens and grandchildrens sports and school activities, playing cards with family and friends, sailing with her husband, and spending time with her friends in Florida where she and her husband were able to spend their winters when they retired. Memories of a fun-loving mother and grandmother on camping trips and vacations will be cherished by her family forever. She will be remembered as a loving and generous person who was always full of life. Sharon fought a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer for almost two years with her husband constantly by her side. She faced it with determination and with the faith that God was with her and watching over her. She remained positive through her fight and wanted others to remain so also. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Norm; and their children, Lori (Chuck) Kolar , Amy (Tim) Parker, Dan(Noreen) Wittman , and Katie (Chris) Connor; grandchildren, Joshua Kolar, Tyler Parker, Krista Kolar, Bailey Parker and Blake Wittman; her mother, Margaret Shidell; her siblings, Norbert (Barb Paulson) Shidell, Mary (Tom) Krause, and Michael (Mary) Shidell; many loving nieces and nephews along with many wonderful friends in Wisconsin and Florida. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Shidell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at St. Johns Catholic Church, Marshfield. Rev.
