Selma J. "Sally" Plank, 86, Marshfield, died on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Golden Living Center, Three Oaks, Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Savarimutha Selvaraj and Deacon Ray Draeger officiating. Music will be provided by Dorothy Gehrke as organist for Sacred Heart Choir. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Mary Ann Burr, Joan Zoellner, Ken Krahn, Herm Krahn, Tim Wing and Jill Blaha. The visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home and on Saturday from 9:30 am until service time at Sacred Heart Church. A Sacred Heart Parish Council of Catholic Women rosary service will be held at 4:00 pm followed by a Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary memorial service at 5:00 pm, both on Friday at the funeral home.
Sally was born on January 24, 1928 in Marshfield, the daughter of Herman and Leta (Schaller) Krahn and was a 1946 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. She was united in marriage to Francis J. Plank, Jr. on August 10, 1946 at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Milwaukee. He died on November 4, 1998.
Sally had been employed for 19 years in the Mail Order Department at Sears, then at North Town Foods and then at Wiskerchen's Cheese until her retirement.
She enjoyed traveling with family and friends and was a Packers and Brewers fan. She also crocheted hundreds of baby hats for St. Joseph's Hospital. She contributed over 8000 volunteer hours at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Parish Council of Catholic Women and had been a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary since 1947. She enjoyed her Wednesday coffee klatch group.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Frueh of Marshfield, her grandson, Jeremy (Cari) Frueh of Stratford and her great grandchildren, MacKenzie and Macie Frueh. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Maldon Plank, many nieces and nephews and a special friend, Mary Ann Burr.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Francis, 2 sisters, 4 brothers, and a son-in-law, Thomas Frueh.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated in her name to Sacred Heart Parish or the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
