Obituary

Scott G. Socha, 55, Mosinee, was granted his angel wings on October 1, 2011 at Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau, following a 20 year battle with brain cancer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday October 5, 2011 at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Junction City. Rev. Andrzej Panek and Rev. Lyle Schulte will officiate and music will be provided by Roy Fuller and Laurie Johnson. Burial will take place later in St. Johns Cemetery in Edgar. The visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday October 4, 2011 at Martens / Rembs Funeral Home, Junction City, and from 9:30 am on Wednesday until service time at St. Michaels Catholic Church. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday at 7:30 pm at the funeral home. Scott was born on August 1, 1956 in Wausau to his proud parents, LeRoy M. and Marlene I. (Jagodzinski) Socha. He was a 1974 graduate of Edgar High School. While in attendance he played basketball, cross country, and was a track record holder. He went on to attend North Central Technical College, Wausau, where he received an automotive technician degree. He was a dedicated worker at Marmet Corporation in Wausau from 1981 until 1992. He then became a devoted employee at Krueger Wholesale Florists from 1992 until the present time. On March 20, 1982, he married the love of his life, Maureen C. Lynch at St. Marys Catholic Church, Wausau. They shared in faith, love, life, family and happiness through his final days. Scott enjoyed Nascar, the Packers, deer hunting, playing cards, fishing in Canada, watching eagles, camping with family and friends, music, and most of all spending time with his family. He was a loving, caring, gentle husband, father, grandfather (rrrrampa), son, and brother, who was kind hearted and had a great sense of humor. He is lovingly survived by his wife and best friend, Maureen, two beautiful daughters, and a precious granddaughter; Christy (Craig) Kraft of Marathon, and their daughter Alyssa, who was grandpas ray of sunshine; and Brittany (Derek) Krause of Green Bay. He is also survived by his parents, LeRoy "Butch" and Marlene Socha of Edgar, a sister, Nancy (Brad) Smith of Eagan, MN, and two brothers, Todd (Mary) Socha of Suamico, and Trent Socha of Athens. Our heartfelt thanks to the caring, compassionate staff at Aspirus Hospice House for their love and care given to Scott and his family. They touched each of our hearts and will be remembered. The family will designate a memorial in Scotts name at a later date.
