IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sandra "Sandy" K.
Ellis
March 16, 1953 – October 17, 2024
Sandra "Sandy" K. Ellis, 71, of City Point, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, October 17, 2024.
Sandy was born on March 16, 1953 in Marshfield, Wisconsin to Elroy and Velda (Kiddoo) Salzwedel. She was raised in the rural community of Lindsey, Wisconsin and was educated in the Granton school district. She married her husband, David Ellis, on June 13, 1970 at Zion Lutheran Church in Granton, WI. They moved their young family to City Point, WI to raise their children and establish roots as third generation Ocean Spray cranberry growers (Ellis, Ellis and Dallman, Inc.), all while devoting over 40 years working in the healthcare sector. She was recognized multiple times by patients / families for her care, kindness, and compassion.
As her family grew Sandy embraced the role of "Nana" and devoted her time to caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, which were the light of her life. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events and celebrating their milestones. In her personal time, she enjoyed camping, cooking, attending concerts, gardening, and worrying about the weather. She was quick to recognize those special to her with a card and notes of cheer. Those who knew Sandy recognized her soft spot for animals, both cats and dogs. Most recently, she took a lot of joy in her cat "Coon Kitty" and grand dog, "Brown Dog". She leaves behind a legacy of deep love, compassion and a spirited will, which will live on in the lives of all who loved her.
Sandy is survived by her husband, David, of 54 years, daughters, Toni (Robert, Jr.) Scheel and Tina (Scott) Ellis Coyle, grandchildren, Arie (Tanner) Haffenbredl, Christian (Rob) Stranz, Connor (Aaron) Vobora, Cierra Coyle, Addison Peplinski, Riley Ellis Scheel, and Renea Ellis Scheel, and great grandchildren, Crew Schlittler, Rhett Schlittler, Palmer Vobora, Robert Haffenbredl, and Piper Vobora. She is further survived by her mother, Velda, sisters, Linda Scheel, Debbie Rosandich, Suzie (Jeff) Ludwig, Jalaine (Steven) Specht, Robin (Duane) Zinthefer, and brothers, Larry (Jackie) Salzwedel, William (Jenny) Salzwedel, and Jeffrey (Melissa) Salzwedel, and brother-in-law, Eugene (Lorraine) Ellis, sister-in-law, Linda (Kenneth) Dallman, as well as a large extend family and many friends who were very special to her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Elroy Salzwedel, brother, Roger Salzwedel, brother-in-law, James Scheel, Aunt and Uncle, Margaret and Gerald Volz, in-laws, Frank and Regina Ellis, nephews Shawn Ellis, Jamie Scheel, Troy Scheel and grandson in-law, Anthony Peplinski.
