Sally B. Haupt, 87, departed her earthly journey to be with her Lord and loved ones on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Stoney River Memory Care, Marshfield. Due to the COVID pandemic her service was delayed. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at St. Kilian's Catholic Church, Blenker, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 am until service time. Rev. Murali Anand Rayappan will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Town of Sherry, Wood County. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. Sally was born on July 2, 1933 in Sherry, to Harry and Florence (Charboneau) Bassuener. She attended Pershing Grade School in Sherry and was a 1951 graduate of Lincoln High School, Wisconsin Rapids. She was united in marriage to Edward L. Haupt on October 15, 1951 at St. Kilian's Catholic Church, Blenker. He died on February 25, 2003. Sally began employment as a teller at Auburndale State Bank and was a trailblazer in the business women's world, working her way up the ranks to become president of the bank, following in her father's footsteps. She retired and continued to serve on the Board of Directors until 2016. Sally was very active in the community and enjoyed traveling and reading. She is survived by her children, Cathy (Dennis) Seevers of Sherry, Chris (Pat) Thayer of Eau Claire, Kim (Rick) Hughes of Byron, IL, Mark (Sue) Haupt of Goodyear, AZ and Alan (Debra) Haupt of Arpin and a daughter-in-law, Joyce Haupt of Auburndale. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Erin, Shaun, Patrick, Katie, Marcus, Matt, Jake, Jessa, Vince, Andrew and Rob and 13 great grandchildren. She is further survived by sisters, Kathlyn Putnam of Fitchburg, Lorna Sorenson of Brookfield and Lorelle (Michael) Mahoney of Milwaukee and sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Dorothy (Jack) Steber, Betty Zimmerman, Lydia Haupt, David (Julie) Haupt and Cheri (Haupt) Ciegielski. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Greg Haupt, and sisters, Audrey Filgut, Nancy Schulz, Ramona Bell and Bonnie McAdam. The family would like to thank the staff of Stoney River Assisted Living and Memory Care along with Heartland Hospice staff for the loving and attentive care Sally received. Memorials may be designated to Heartland Hospice or to Marshfield Area Purple Angels (MAPA), a non-profit organization raising awareness about Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.
