Ruth C. Schroepfer, 85, Marshfield, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024 at Three Oaks Health Services, Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 29, 2024 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Stratford with visitation from 9:00 am until the time of service. Rev. Sengole Vethanayagam will officiate. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County. Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home, Stratford is assisting the family.

Ruth was born on April 29, 1938 in Stratford to Peter and Catherine (Hein) Meyer. She attended St. Joseph's Catholic School and graduated from Stratford High School in 1957. She married William C. Schroepfer on September 9, 1972 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Stratford. He passed away on January 4, 1999.

Ruth worked as a data entry typist at IBM in Omaha, Nebraska and Weyerhauser in Marshfield. After their daughter Diane was born, she became a stay at home mom and later worked and retired from food service in the dietary department at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield after 29 years.

In her younger years, Ruth loved to travel. She also enjoyed attending Hein family reunions and other family functions, researching genealogy, doing word searches, spending time with her grandkids, attending all of their dance recitals and babysitting. Her faith was very strong and important to her.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Waldhauser of Spencer and grandchildren, Bailey of St. Louis Park, MN, and Mason, Riley, and Aubrey of Loyal.

She is further survived by her sisters, Mary (James) Szydel of Neshkoro, Gertrude Krueger of Wausau, Rita (Maynard) Erdmann of Wautoma, and Patricia Folz of Kronenwetter, sister in law, Mae Schroepfer of Stratford, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; 6 brothers, Walter, Raymond, Albert, Peter, Melvin, and James Meyer; 2 sisters, Agnes Hughes and Sister Cathryn.
