Ruth E. Kuehnhold, 90, Stratford, was received by the good Lord, surrounded by her family, on Friday, June 24, 2011 at her home in the Town of Day. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 27, 2011 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, with Rev. Sue Eidahl, Pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Stratford, officiating. Burial will take place in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Stratford. The visitation will be held on Monday from 12:00 pm until service time at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield. Ruth was born on October 30, 1920 in Auburndale to Charles and Anne (Kuehnhold) Boehning. She married Walter M. Kuehnhold on August 13, 1946 in Waukon, Iowa. He died on April 8, 1972. Ruth and her husband farmed in the Town of Day and after his passing she took over operation of the farm. She continued to milk cows until 1986 when she began raising beef cattle until the present time. In her earlier years she worked at the former Paris Avenue Restaurant in Rozellville. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and quilting. She was a very positive lady with a sweet personality. She is survived by three sons, Ronald (Debbie) Kuehnhold of Stratford, Robert (Carole) Kuehnhold of Delafield, and David Kuehnhold of Stratford. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Adam (Karla) Kuehnhold, Katie (Lee Plonske) Kuehnhold, Nancy Kuehnhold, Preston (Lauren Miller) Kuehnhold, and Amanda (Montrell Ross) Kuehnhold and four great grandchildren, Michael, Ahlexis Dru, Quentin and Makenzie. She is further survived by a brother, Arnold (Mabel) Boehning of Marshfield and a sister, Lucille Heinzen of Wisconsin Rapids. She was welcomed into heaven with open arms by her husband, Walter, a grandson, Andrew, and nine brothers and sisters.
