Ruth Marilyn Hefko passed away on March 19, 2018. She was a fun-loving person who enjoyed travel, fishing, cooking, shopping and gathering with friends and a family for a game of cards or a lively conversation.
She was born in Marshfield, WI on June 25, 1926, to Theodore and Mable (Hood) Hefko. As a young woman, she moved to Dallas, TX where she met her husband Freeman Powell. They were married in 1956 and resided in the Dallas area. Freeman died in 1962, and, shortly after, she moved to Chicago where she lived for several years before returning home to Marshfield. She was employed as a floral designer in Dallas and Chicago and as an administrative assistant at Westview Country Club in Marshfield.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister June (Schalk), and brothers Terry and James. She is survived by many nieces and nephews who miss her adventurous spirit, her great sense of fashion, her many stories and her warm smile.
A memorial service will be held on July 20th at 11am at the Hillside Cemetery with Rev. Laurie Davis, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating.
