Ruth M. Behrens, 100, a lifelong Marshfield resident, died on Monday, July 15, 2013 at Golden Living Center, Three Oaks in Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery and grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 am until service time at St. John's Catholic Church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. Ruth was born on May 20, 1913 in Marshfield to Charles and Margaret (Vogel) Leibelt and attended Timlin Country School. On October 27, 1931 she was united in marriage to Maurice H. Behrens. He died on December 9, 2004. Ruth was employed at Engelbrecht Cleaners in Marshfield for many years. She was also an accomplished seamstress, cook and baker. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Parish Council of Catholic Women. She also volunteered at St. John's School library. She is survived by her sons, Peter W. (Jane) Behrens of Marshfield, Terrance Behrens of Menomonee Falls, and Michael J. (Martha) Behrens of Plover, and a daughter-in-law, Susan Behrens of Menomonee Falls, wife of Daniel who died on December 28, 2012. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Steven, David, Elizabeth, Christopher, Kevin, Matthew, Joseph, and Jacob, and 14 great grandchildren. She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Memorials may be designated in her name to House of the Dove, Marshfield.
