Obituary

Rueben R. Joswiak, Sr., 79, Prentice, died on Thursday, May 3, 2012 in the emergency room of Memorial Health Center, Medford. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, May 7, 2012 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Stratford. Rev. Eric Berns will officiate and St. Joseph's Resurrection Choir will provide music. Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Town of Eau Pleine. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 10:00 am until service time at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Sauter / Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. Rueben was born on January 15, 1933 in the Town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County, to Vincent and Lucille (Roggenbauer) Joswiak. He attended St. Joseph's Parochial School, Stratford and Stratford High School. Rueben had farmed and worked as a logger in the Town of Eau Pleine. He also was employed in road construction in Appleton for two years. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He is survived by six children, Rueben Joswiak, Jr. of Texas, Mona Joswiak of Prentice, David (Sandy) Joswiak of Stratford, Andy (Jackie) Joswiak of Arizona, Jeffrey Joswiak of Stratford, and Fred Joswiak of Arizona. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Justin Joswiak, Taylor Marie Joswiak, Amanda, Alex, and Jason Joswiak, Eric, Corey and Chelsea Joswiak, and Samantha and Hailey Joswiak, and a step grandson, Jason Gessert. He is further survived by a special friend, Ethel Barkulis and by three brothers and a sister, Roman (Elaine) Joswiak of Stratford, Leone Funk of Kenosha, Robert (Sharon) Joswiak of Portage, and Earl Joswiak of Stratford.
