Obituary

Rudolph J. Lang, 98 of Marshfield died peacefully on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Wednesday, March 19th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Savarimuthu Selvalaj officiating. Cindy Penker along with Sacred Heart Funeral Choir will provide the music. Burial will be in Brooklawn Memory Garden Cemetery in the town of Richfield at a later date. Family will receive relative and friends from 9:30am until time of service at the church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements He was born on February 5, 1916 in Edgar to Andrew and Anna (Fochs) Lang. He was united in marriage to Gertrude Hornung on August 25, 1936 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marathon. Gertrude died on October 29, 2003. Rudy served in the United States Army during World War II from May 15, 1945 until his honorable discharge on August 21, 1946. Rudy was a member of the iron workers union and helped build bridges, paper mills and St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. He enjoyed deer and turkey hunting, fishing and playing cards. He was an active former member of All Saints Catholic Church in Babcock and presently a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rudy is survived by two daughters, Carol Dowdle of LaVernia, TX and Janet Doutt of Marshfield, two grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He is further survived by a brother Luke (Delores) Lang of Marathon, two sisters, Angeline Rajek of Marathon and Arlene White of Chula Vista, CA. Besides his parents and wife Gertrude, he was preceded in death by two grandsons and 11 brothers and sisters. Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com
