Ronald E. Wislinsky, 78 of Phillips and formerly of Marshfield, died Friday evening February 3, 2012 at his home in Phillips. Mass will be at 10:30am Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield with Rev. Peter Manickam officiating. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery with his four grandsons Brian, Kyle, Ben, and Andy, and friends Larry Krznarich and Todd Besler serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 4-8pm Monday at Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield and again at Sacred Heart from 9:30am until time of service. There will be a combined rosary service by the Sacred Heart Parish and Knights of Columbus at 6:30PM at Rembs Funeral Home. Ron was born on February 20, 1933 in Wild Rose to Edward Wislinsky and Goldie (Williams) Wislinsky. He was united in marriage to Marjorie A. Martinson on December 28, 1957 in Stevens Point. She passed away on February 19, 1997. After graduating with a BA degree from Stevens Point Teachers College (UW Stevens Point) and obtaining a Masters Degree from UW-Madison, he taught History and Physical Education at Marshfield High School (MHS) starting in 1958. In 1977, he became Athletic Director at MHS and served in that capacity until his retirement in 1991. During his tenure at MHS, he also coached football and wrestling for several years. He was named Athletic Director of the year in 1989 by the WIAA. Ron is survived by his children Michael (Nannette) Wislinsky of Superior, Colorado, Kathryn Hull of Marshfield, Thomas (Connie) Wislinsky of Altoona; six grandchildren, Erik and Kyle Wislinsky, Angela (Andy) Wilcox-Hull, Brian Hull, and Ben and Anna Wislinsky, and one great granddaughter Alba Wilcox-Hull.
