Rolland E. Peterson, 92, Arpin, died on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at his home in the Town of Arpin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, October 3, 2014 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hewitt. Burial will take place in Arpin Cemetery. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Rolland, a triplet, was born at home on August 28, 1922 to Axel and Hilma (Johnson) Peterson in Drummond, Wisconsin. He was a 1941 graduate of Drummond High School. Rolland was a veteran of the United States Army signal corps during World War II and served in New Guinea and the Philippines. He married Helen M. Dominik on October 5, 1946.
Rolland had been employed for Great Northern Railroad, Consolidated Papers in Wisconsin Rapids and also had farmed in the Town of Arpin. He was an avid lifelong Packer fan and enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Helen and their children, Veronica (Charls Dixon) Peterson of Dallas, TX, Mary (Steve) Flerchinger, of Pomeroy, WA, Michael (Joani) Peterson of Libby, MT, Robyn (Andy Bull) Peterson of Creswell, Oregon, Elizabeth (Bob Cook) Peterson of Clyde Park, MT, John (Laura) Peterson of Auburndale, and Joseph Peterson of Arpin. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. He is further survived by a sister, Ruby (August) Witbracht of Peoria, IL and by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, a son, Mark and 8 siblings.
