Roland W. Truchinski, 92 formerly of Stratford died on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Golden Living Center Three Oaks in Marshfield.
Funeral service will be 11am Friday, March 27, 2015 at Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Pittsville with his grandchildren as pallbearers. Military rites will be provided by the Stratford VFW Post 6352 at the cemetery.
Visitations will be from 9:30am until time of services on Friday at Rembs Funeral Home.
Roland was born on March 5, 1923 in Pittsville to Emil and Esther (Gerhing) Truchinski. He attended Good Church School in Pittsville and attended Pittsville High School.
He was drafted into the United States Navy during World War II and was honorable discharged as a motor machinist mate, second class on December 13, 1945. After his discharge, he farmed for a number of years, owned a restaurant in Stanley and retired as a truck driver for Fischer Trucking and Bus Company in Fenwood.
He was united in marriage to Doris E. Millard on January 16, 1943 and later divorced, then was married to Marie E. Johnson on November 3, 1962 in Reno, NV. Marie died on June 10, 1989.
He is survived by his children from his first wife Doris, Gary Morgan of Wisconsin Rapids, Rodney Truchinski of Wisconsin Rapids, Sheri Towne of Marshfield, Susan Harvey of DesMoines, IA and Todd Truchinski of Marshfield; children with Marie were Kim Truchinski of Wausau, Tammy (Scott) Zoellner and Lynn Bryson of Stratford; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He is further survived by a brother Richard Truchinski of California and two sisters, Jeanette Harmel of Indianapolis, IN and Violet of California.
Besides his parents, wife Marie, he was preceded in death by 3 children Kevin, Randy and Debbie Behringer; granddaughter Cheyenne Griffith, son-in-law, Gerald Bryson, 1 brother and 1 sister.
