Roland L."Rollie" Schirmacher, 86 of Marshfield passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Committal service will be 11:30 am Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Gate of Heaven Cemetery with Fr. Nate Kuhn officiating. A lunch will follow at The Drake House I, 800 S. Drake Avenue, Marshfield. Rollie was born on February 23, 1929 in Waukesha, WI to William and Elizabeth (Doll) Schirmacher. He lived much of his adult life in Marshfield. He attended the Community Resource Program through Wood County Unified Services for many years. For the past 16 years, he resided at The Drake House I CBRF. His genuine laugh and friendly personality were traits that all who knew him will not forget. His hobbies included playing pool, fishing, and especially being outside waving at all passersby whether they were in cars, riding bicycles, or walking. Rollie had a special love and fondness for the The Drake House dogs, Lady and Benny. Rollie is survived by his sister Pat Mattiacci of Sullivan, WI, guardian Dennis and Sue Buehler of Marshfield and his Drake House I family of residents and staff.
