Rodney Herman, 83, of Mosinee passed away on August 24, 2017 at his country home that he loved. He had lung and heart issues from years of smoking. Rod chose not to have a funeral when he passed. His immediate family will have a private dinner. Instead of flowers or plants, if you would like to make a donation to help pay for his burial costs, you can send cards to his daughter via Rembs Funeral Home. Alternatively, you can donate to an animal shelter on his behalf. Rod was born in Marshfield WI in 1934 to Virgil and Elizabeth (Welch) Herman. He worked for many years at Modern of Marshfield when he was younger. In later years, he worked as a maintenance man at an apartment building and woodworking instructor at Midstate. In the years before his retirement, he had his own upholstery business out of his home. He enjoyed photography, reading, drawing, woodworking, telling jokes and being with his family and pets. Rod had two children with his ex-wife Beverly (Bey) Herman (died in 2005), a son Mark Herman who passed in 2000 and a daughter Michelle Herman of Stevens Point. He is survived by his daughter, a sister Beatrice Gripentrog of West Bend WI, ex-wife Pat (Venzke) Herman of Stevens Point, and three stepchildren: Lenora Whipple, Clayton Venzke and Oakley Venzke.
