Robert Charles Wendt, age 87, joined his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Bethel Center, Arpin.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, where the visitation will be from 1:30 pm until service time. Pastor Dean Pingel will officiate. Burial will take place in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Hewitt, where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 54 of Marshfield.
Mr. Wendt was born on March 13, 1929 in Hewitt, Wisconsin, the son of Ernest and Blanche (Dryden) Wendt. Robert graduated from Marshfield High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He married Mirth F. Cudmore on October 6, 1951 and they observed fifty-seven years of marriage. He had worked for 24 years at Central State Telephone Company (TDS), then moved to Neenah, Wisconsin and worked 8 years with Finley Engineering. He and his wife retired and moved back to Hewitt. He came out of retirement to work at Walmart for 7 years as a door greeter.
Bob is survived by his children, Susan, Bonnie, Beverly, David, Daniel and Sally. He is also Survived by 21 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is further survived by his twin sister Ruthie Todd. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Mirth in 2008, a son Bobby in 1975 and two brothers George and Donald Wendt and a grandson Cory Hasche. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorials to be given to Bethel Center. "To my beloved family and friends, I will truly miss you" Bob.
