Robert G. "Bob" Weinfurter, 70, Auburndale, died on Monday, December 22, 2014 at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Auburndale, with Rev. Mark Lundgren officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends from 11:00 am on Sunday until service time at St. John's Lutheran Church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Bob was born on December 16, 1944 in Junction City, to Ignatz and Mary (Wirth) Weinfurter and was a 1963 graduate of P.J. Jacobs High School in Stevens Point. He married Linda M. Schanz in 1969 in Junction City.
Bob was employed as a semi-truck driver most of his career. He worked at Fischer Dairy in Wisconsin Rapids, Hamel Forest Products and Shaws Wrecking Yard, retiring in 2006 due to health issues. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Auburndale and a past member of the Arpin Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife Linda, a sister Carol (Bob) LaGrander of Chippewa Falls, and a brother Otto Weinfurter of Marshfield. He is also survived by sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jodi (Chuck) Eithun, of Reedsburg, and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don (Rae Ann) Schanz of Grayling, MI. He is further survived by nieces, Tracy (Derrick) Christman of Salt Lake City, UT, Angela (Alex) Dums and their son, Lucas of Green Bay, Jamie (Wayne) Jorgeson and their daughters, Alaena and Alexis of Reedsburg, Genny (Randy) Schmidt and their children, Katie and Josh of Fredonia, a special "son" Russ Pankratz, and a special "grandson", Bently "Be Bop". He will be greatly missed by his beloved pets Scooter, Tanner and Buddy.
He was predeceased by his parents, a son, Mark, a niece Deb (Schanz) Daniels, a nephew, Jacob LaGrander, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Donald and Lorraine Schanz.
The family will designate a memorial in his name at a later date.
