Robert J. "Boots" Weigel, 92, died on Friday, October 7, 2016 at Touch of Home Assisted Living, Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, October 10, 2016 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Rozellville with Rev. Sengole Vethamanickam officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Mike, Bob and Ron Weigel, Betty Weis, Margie Wayerski and Dan Leick. The visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 am until service time at St. Andrew's Church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. Robert was born on January 30, 1924 in the Town of Day, Marathon County, to Robert J. and Mary (Leick) Weigel and attended St. Andrew's Parochial School in Rozellville. As a young man, Bob worked at Grand Meadow Cheese Factory in the Town of Day and he also was a milk hauler. In 1955 he purchased a farm in the Town of Day and farmed until 1982. He then worked at St. Vincent DePaul in Marshfield for 28 years. He enjoyed woodworking. Bob is survived by a sister, Isabele Weigel of Marshfield and a brother, Tony (Ann) Weigel of Stratford. He was predeceased by his parents, and brothers and sisters, Isadore, Susie, Rita and Sylvester Weigel and Maryalice Seidel.
