Obituary

Robert J. Tupper, 77 of Auburndale died on Saturday morning, March 12, 2016 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Thursday, March 17, 2016 at St. Kilian's Catholic Church in Blenker with Fr. Jesse Burish officiating. Doris Mielke along with Judy Meyer and choir will provide the music for the service. Burial will be in St. Kilian's Cemetery, Blenker with Alex and Aaron Marth, Andy Place, Tim Wilcott, Josh Nagel and Paul Sebold serving as pallbearers. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the American Legion Post # 468 of Milladore. Visitations will be from 4-8pm Wednesday at the Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield and again on Thursday at the church from 9:30am until service time. Robert was born on September 25, 1938 in Madison to Andre and Mary (Dietl) Tupper. He graduated from Madison East High School then served in the United States Army for 2 years then retired from the United States Navy in 1979 after more than 22 years of service. He was united in marriage to Sandra J. Marth on January 30, 1982 in Madison. After his honorable discharge, he worked at Vitro Corporation in Maryland and then Lockheed Martin Corporation in Bethesda, MD, retiring in December 2004. He moved back to Wisconsin in 2005 and lived in Auburndale. He enjoyed retirement by volunteering at the Auburndale Elementary School for which he received the Jefferson Award. His hobbies included following all Wisconsin sports, especially attending Auburndale athletic events in which his niece and nephews played. He enjoyed going out to eat with his wife, family and friends. He also enjoyed reading and watching old western movies while having a cup of fresh hot black coffee. Besides his wife Sandra bringing joy to his life, he treasured the time he spent with his niece Nicole whom he called his princess/sweetie pie. Sandra survives along with two children, Isabelle Forbes of France and Patrick Tupper of Atlanta, GA and a grandson Kevin Forbes. He is further survived by a sister JoAnn Schroeder of Fitchburg, WI.
