Robert J."Bob" Lewer, 91 of Marshfield died on Friday, August 29, 2014 at Miller Alternative Care in Marshfield under Ministry Home Hospice. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:00am Saturday, September 6, 2014 at St. John's Catholic Church with Fr. Sam Martin officiating. Suzanne Golden along with St. John's Funeral Choir will provide the music. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield. Visitations will be from 4-8pm Friday at Rembs Funeral Home and again at the church on Saturday from 8:30am until service time. A rosary service will be held at 4:00pm on Friday at the funeral home. Bob was born on November 4, 1922 in Verona to Robert and Marie (Raemisch) Lewer. Bob moved to Medford with his parents as a child. He was united in marriage to Irene H. Schmid on September 3, 1945 in Dorchester, WI. Irene sadly passed away on January 19, 1998. He drove truck for Neuendorf Transportation Company in Medford for 30 years. He also operated the Circle "D" Ranch and Lewer Sand and Gravel Company. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Bob is survived by three sons, David (JoAnn) Lewer of Marshfield, Dennis (Fran) Lewer of Mosinee and Dale (Linda) Lewer of Marshfield; three daughters, Donna (Ronald) Jakobi of Granton, Debbie (Dr. Keith) Cole of Fairmont, OK and Darla (Brian Lotz) Lewer of Deerbrook; 23 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. He is further survived by his brother Dorvan (Mary) Lewer of Kansas City, MO, sister Lucille Pernsteiner of Marshfield and his long time companion Bernice Backus.
