Robert L. Konig, age 97 of Stevens Point, died on Friday, August 16, 2013 at Oakridge Living Center in Stevens Point where he had resided for the past 4 years. Funeral services will be held at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2013 with Pastor Gail Sowell officiating. Family and friends may call one hour before the time of service at the funeral home. Bob was born on February 12, 1916 in Long Island, NY. As a child, the family moved to New Orleans and then to Milwaukee, where he attended Hartford and Riverside Schools. On July 11, 1981, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Milwaukee, Bob married Catherine (Specht) who survives. After his education he worked on elevators for Wisconsin Door Systems, subcontracting to Otis Elevator. Bob and his brother, Vincent also co-owned and operated a coffee delivery business. Bob had a great love of airplanes and flying. He built several homemade planes. In addition to his wife Catherine, survivors include a son, Robert of Green Bay, WI; a step-daughter, Maria Giannattasio and step-granddaughter, Sarah Aumann, three sister-in-laws, Margie of Scottsdale, AZ; Lois of Mequon, WI; and Marge of Grafton, WI. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Braun, three brothers, Vincent, William and Kenneth, and his sister Alice. Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com
